What is Pupil Premium Grant?
The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding provided by the government to schools in England to help improve the educational outcomes of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. It is intended to support children who are currently eligible for free school meals, have been eligible in the past six years, are in care or have been adopted from care, or have parents in the armed forces. Schools use this funding to help close the attainment gap between these pupils and their peers by providing extra support such as small group tuition, access to educational resources, or emotional and pastoral care. The aim is to ensure that all children, regardless of their background, have the best possible chance to succeed in their education.
